New The Modern Operations Path™: five steps, enter where you are
Working Sessions · Outside the Path

Get an operator on the thing that's stuck.

Sometimes you don't need a build or a retainer. You need an hour with someone who has already done the thing — set up the LLC, wired the analytics, stood up the co-op, picked the tools. Bring the problem in front of you. We think it through, and you leave with the decision made and the next moves clear.

Book a session $250 for one call · four for $800 · no retainer.

What a Working Session is

A Working Session is a live 60–75 minute call where you bring one operational problem and we solve it out loud. Not a course. Not a retainer. Not a deck you read later. An operator in your corner for the length of a call — thinking through the decision with you, then leaving you with the setup and the next three moves.

Fifteen years of running operations means I've made most of these calls before, usually more than once. That's what you're renting: not advice in the abstract, but someone who has stood in the exact spot you're standing in and can tell you what actually matters and what only looks like it does.

What people bring to a session

The questions I get most often aren't strategy questions. They're the practical, load-bearing ones — the setup you only do once and want to get right. A few that come up again and again:

  • "How do I set up the entity?" LLC, S-corp, or cooperative — which one fits, how to form it, and the handful of choices that actually matter later.
  • "I can't see what's happening." Wiring up analytics — what to track, what to ignore, and how to get a real read on the business instead of a wall of numbers.
  • "I want to run this as a co-op." Standing up a cooperative — governance, membership, and the practical mechanics, from someone doing it, not theorizing about it.
  • "My tools are a mess." Choosing and connecting the operating stack — enough to run on, without over-buying software you'll never grow into.
  • "Everything runs through me." The first systems that get the business out of your head — where to start so the team stops waiting on you for every call.
  • "Where does AI actually help?" The parts of your operations a machine can now do, and the parts that still need a person — a straight answer, not hype.

If it's an operational knot you'd want a second set of hands on, it fits. When it's bigger than a call — when the answer is "you need the systems built" — I'll tell you, and point you at the right step of the Path.

Two ways to book

One call for the question in front of you, or a block for when you'd rather have an operator on call as things come up.

A block of four

$800 saves $200

Four sessions, used within three months. For the stretch where things keep coming up and you'd rather not book one at a time — an operator on call while you build.

Get the block

Who it's for — and who it isn't.

It's for the founder, consultant, or small-firm owner who has a specific operational thing to get right and would rather spend an hour with someone who's done it than a week reading conflicting advice. You do the work; I help you make the call.

It's not for someone who wants the work done for them — that's a build, or the fractional COO seat. And it's not open-ended life coaching. A session has an operational thing at the center of it, or it isn't a session.

Working Session FAQ

  • What is a Working Session? A live 60–75 minute call where you bring one operational problem and we think it through together — the decision, the setup, the next moves. An operator on the thing that's stuck, not a course and not a retainer.
  • What can I bring? Anything on the operating side: entity setup, analytics, the tool stack, cooperative formation, first systems, first ops hire, where AI fits. If it's an operational question you'd want a second set of hands on, it fits.
  • What does it cost? $250 for a single session, or $800 for a block of four used within three months. No retainer either way.
  • How is this different from the fractional COO? A session is the lowest-commitment way to get my thinking — one call, one problem, no build. The COO engagement is the other end: an operator in the seat a few days a month, actually building and running the systems.
  • What if my thing is bigger than a call? I'll say so, and point you at the right step of the Path — a Read, a Map, or a build. You won't pay for a session that should have been something else.
