Why “more content” isn’t the answer
If your cert org is publishing but still not converting, it’s probably not a volume problem.
Let’s be honest, most certification orgs are already creating a good amount of content.
They’ve got blogs, decks, webinars, maybe even a podcast. They’re pushing updates on social, sending emails, sharing resources with partners.
So why does it still feel like… no one’s biting? Why aren’t more people applying, renewing, or sharing what you do?
Here’s what we keep seeing:
It’s not a content problem. It’s a coordination problem.
Content that exists in isolation (even if it’s beautifully written) won’t move the needle. Because most of your audience isn’t reading everything you post. They’re skimming, scrolling, scanning. And unless there’s a clear path forward, they’ll just move on.
When we work with certification teams, we almost always find content that’s good, but scattered.
- A blog that doesn’t link to the registration.
- A landing page with no next step.
- A webinar with no follow-up.
- Five different teams writing for five different goals.
Instead of content strategy, they’ve accidentally fallen into content drift.
So what’s the fix?
Start with structure.
Not just what you want to say, but where that message fits into the user’s journey.
- Who is this for?
- Where are they in the process?
- And what do they need next?
That’s how your content becomes useful. Not just noise, but navigation. Because in this space, the goal isn’t to flood channels with content.
It’s to create less, and connect more.
And when every piece points to the right next action, that’s when the system starts to work.
Here if you’re trying to make that shift,
Shane
