What this site collects, and why.
Short version: shanegring.com is a personal site, not an ad business. It collects the minimum needed to run analytics, answer the messages you send, and deliver the things you ask for. It does not sell your data to anyone. This page explains what happens with each part. Last updated 24 August 2026.
Analytics
When you visit on the live site (shanegring.com), Google Analytics 4 runs through Google Tag Manager to count visits and see which pages get read. That involves cookies and a record of the pages you view, the approximate region you visit from, and the kind of device and browser you use. It is used in aggregate to understand what is working, not to identify you by name. Preview and local versions of the site do not send analytics at all. You can block this with a browser setting, an ad blocker, or a Global Privacy Control signal.
The contact form
If you fill in the contact form, the name, email, company, and message you enter are sent through a form handler (FormSubmit) and delivered to Shane's inbox at [email protected]. That information is used only to read and reply to what you sent. It is not added to a marketing list unless you separately ask to subscribe.
The newsletter
Subscribing to Seeking Certainty stores your email address with beehiiv, the service that sends the newsletter. beehiiv handles the sending and keeps the usual open-and-click records so the emails work and stay out of spam. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and one click removes you for good.
The free Scan
The Site Readiness Scan takes a website URL and, if you choose to send the result, an email address. The URL is fetched and analysed to produce your report. If you ask for the report by email, the URL and your email are recorded so Shane can send it and follow up. You are never required to give an email to see the on-screen result.
Who else is involved
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which sees standard request logs. The services named above (Google, FormSubmit, beehiiv, and, for the Scan, Google Workspace) each handle their own slice of data under their own terms. No other party receives your information, and none of it is sold.
Your choices
You can ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. To make any of these requests, or to ask a question about this page, email [email protected] and it will be handled directly.
This is a plain-language summary of real practice, not legal advice. If it changes, the date at the top changes with it.
